Geopolitical Concerns...And Opportunities

Out for a “drive” with my daughter last weekend, I got a small, endearing reminder of how we deal with scarcity - at least in her world. On our way to the park in her pink “Cozy Coupe,” we kept running out of gas. Every few feet, she’d stop, hop out, make a swooshing sound, “refill” the tank with her finger, and we’d be off again as she happily closed the car door and scurried her feet. It was charming, if not a bit inefficient. We spent nearly an hour making it down the block. In her world, energy is limitless, solutions are simple, and the only real cost is time.
Back in the real world, of course, energy doesn’t refill so easily. Prices at the pump - and the market volatility tied to them - remain closely linked to geopolitical tensions unfolding far from home. |
