Brandon Mull, CFA, CFP®
Founder and Principal Wealth Advisor
Brandon Mull is Founder and Principal Wealth Advisor for Marathon Wealth Advisors. He brings nearly two decades of experience spanning wealth advisory, investment management, and derivatives trading to serve the needs of his clients. Brandon’s unique expertise lies in the powerful combination of portfolio management paired with customized financial planning which helps clients confidently address key risks such as inflation, market volatility, as well as tax and estate exposure, ensuring their wealth lasts throughout their retirement years.
Prior to founding Marathon Wealth Advisors, Brandon’s career experience included roles in equity research, as well as proprietary futures and options trading. He later was a portfolio manager at Morgan Stanley where he and his team managed and set investment strategy for high net worth relationships totaling over $1billion in AUM. Most recently, Brandon was a Senior Vice President at a top registered investment advisor (RIA), serving as head of their Detroit office with a fourfold growth of relationships, and leading their expansion into the Chicago market.
Brandon holds a BA in Business/Economics from Wheaton College, and holds a rare combination of rigorous credentials, obtaining both the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designations. As a four-time collegiate All-American, Brandon eventually became an avid marathon runner, twice qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Trials (2016 and 2020). He believes that the discipline, rigor, and long-term approach required for successful marathoning are analogous to those required for successful financial outcomes and embody the spirit and purpose of Marathon Wealth Advisors.
At the core of Brandon’s work is a deep respect for each client’s individual story, goals, and priorities. He views his role as a trusted partner, helping clients make informed decisions, prepare for the unexpected, and move forward with confidence toward the life they want to build.
